The former Beverly Hills 90210 actress has agreed a deal with US network WEtv, which will see cameras following the couple during the lead up to their nuptials, as well as on their actual wedding day.
Studio executive John Miller told EW.com that he believes the series will be a huge hit, explaining:
"She's insanely compelling. People will see a side of Shannen they never expected to see - unfiltered, honest and vulnerable. "
Not yet titled, the series will launch on US TV in January 2012.
Doherty has previously been married twice. The Charmed star was married for five months to Ashley Hamilton, son of actor George Hamilton, until she filed for divorce in 1994. Her nine-month marriage to Rick Salomon was annulled in 2003.
